SUMMARY



Reporting to the Operations Supervisor the Delivery Drivers primary responsibility is operating a five-ton truck, transporting home furnishings and appliances to customers' homes, providing installation and hook up services with the removal of exchanges or recycled products. In addition, you will be expected to be a Metro Supply Chain ambassador of white glove service and a leader in the in-home delivery service. It is essential that the Delivery Service Specialist creates a positive customer experience by understanding and meeting the customers' needs. Success in this role will be determined by customer satisfaction through on time, accurate deliveries and providing a positive customer interaction each time you interface with the customer.



RESPONSIBILITIES

Operating a five-ton commercial vehicle (Class 3 and mention F) on predetermined route using a customized home delivery application to provide accurate on time delivery to multiple retail locations. Assigned delivery routes will vary from time to time. Strict adherence to completion of all documentation according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) including appliance and home furnishing installation, manifests, obtaining signatures, safe operations, etc. At a Metro Supply Chain hub, responsible for loading products into the five-ton for delivery in a manner that prevents damage to the product. Adhere to Metro Supply Chain's hub safe motor vehicle driving methods, as well as strict adherence to all provincial motor vehicle laws. Maintain a clean delivery truck, perform daily pre and post shift safety inspections, and advise the supervisor of any concerns or service recommendations. Follow all SOPs regarding the safeguarding of Metro Supply Chain hub and its Customers property against theft. Work with Customer Service and the Logistics Coordinator to return damaged or exchange product not accepted at the delivery location, and transport the product back to the hub, according to SOP. Work with Customer Service and the Logistics Coordinator to accommodate rush deliveries or changes to the scheduled delivery route and support the team with specialized white glove delivery installations. Establish a positive relationship with the Logistics Coordinator by understanding client expectations, meeting daily commitments, and addressing or referring any service concerns for priority resolution. Adhere to established uniform requirements, maintain a professional image, and handle all client interactions in a courteous, customer-oriented manner. Demonstrate and promote Metro's Our WAY values daily. Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE



Must have a valid Class 3 with mention F driver license along with a clean driver abstract. Experience as a delivery driver in a time-sensitive, customer interfacing environment preferred. Experience preforming home delivery services, including appliance and home furnishing installation. Must agree to a criminal background check and credit check. Must have appropriate licensing to operate a five-ton truck. Must speak English Must have at least one year experience driving five-ton trucks. Must be able to pass a criminal record check. Must provide references for driving. Six months of home delivery, appliance delivery, customer service, and driving experience. Must have a great attitude Be physically fit and able to lift over 100 lbs. comfortably and consistently Available 7 days/week

EDUCATION

High school diploma is preferred or equivalent experience
