Keystone Child, Youth & Family Services is a dynamic, not-for-profit organization and the designated Lead Agency for Children's Mental Health in Grey and Bruce Counties. Since 1974, we have been dedicated to supporting children, youth, and families by delivering compassionate, responsive mental health services.
At Keystone, we provide a full continuum of services, including counseling, prevention and well-being programs, short-term live-in treatment, crisis stabilization, youth justice services, and special needs programming. Our focus on coordinated access ensures that every child and youth aged 0-17 receives tailored, multi-disciplinary care to meet their unique needs.
Keystone is seeking a compassionate and skilled MSW Counselor to join our Live-In Treatment (LIT) program.
This role provides therapeutic support and counseling to youth experiencing emotional, psychological, and social challenges. Working within a structured treatment environment, the Counselor facilitates individual and group therapy, conducts assessments, and develops treatment plans that promote recovery and stability.
This position plays a key role in helping youth transition successfully between hospital care, family, and community life through Keystone's Step Up/Step Down (SUSD) program, contributing to meaningful change and improved mental health outcomes for the young people we serve!
Qualifications:
Education:
Master's degree in Social Work (MSW).
Registration:
Registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW)
Experience:
Experience in live-in treatment settings is preferred.
Responsibilities:
Assessment: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to conduct comprehensive formulations and assessments of youth, identifying needs and developing individualized treatment plans.
Therapeutic Services: Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual, family, and group therapy, to support youth and their families.
Crisis Intervention: Effectively address crises, ensuring youth safety and well-being through de-escalation techniques and supportive interventions.
Skill Development: Facilitate life skills and coping skills training to assist residents in managing challenges and preparing for successful reintegration into the community.
Support and Advocacy: Help youth and families navigate healthcare and community resources, advocating for their needs and rights within the community and the treatment program.
Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including medical staff, psychologists, and other therapists, to provide comprehensive care. Actively participate in designing and implementing individualized, goal-oriented treatment programs for each child and their family.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of therapeutic sessions, progress notes, and treatment plans in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
Community Engagement: Participate in community education initiatives to promote mental health awareness and highlight the benefits of live-in treatment programs.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations in a live-in environment.
Highly developed psychosocial assessment skills.
Demonstrated clinical skills in providing planning, therapy, and counseling support to individuals and families.
Proven ability to identify and address barriers to discharge and available supports.
Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex cases.
Demonstrated conflict resolution skills.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and excellence in practice.
