RED Mountain Resort is seeking an experienced

Mountain Chef

to lead kitchen operations and deliver consistent, high-quality dining experiences in a fast-paced resort environment. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for a Chef who thrives under pressure, enjoys leading a large team of back of house employees, values food safety and consistency, and is passionate about guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

Kitchen Operations & Food Quality

Oversee all food preparation and delivery for all outlets Enforce standard recipes, portion control, and presentation standards Recruit, train and supervise culinary team members Inspect food quality throughout preparation and service Ensure kitchens meet cleanliness, safety, and departmental standards Ensure opening and closing procedures are followed

Health, Safety & Compliance

Maintain Food Safe, sanitation, and health compliance Complete logs, cleaning schedules, and safety records Ensure equipment cleanliness and safe operation Implement corrective actions and submit maintenance requests

Food Service & Guest Experience

Manage staff to ensure stations are fully set up 30 minutes prior to service Manage staff to ensure that established service timelines are met Oversee dietary, allergy, and special meal requests with precision Collaborate on daily specials

Leadership & Communication

Lead in a positive, collaborative work environment Communicate menu changes, shortages, and other items to the F&B team Complete daily prep lists and operational communication

Qualifications

Red Seal Chef certification Food Safe Level 1 certification 7-10 years of culinary experience, preferably in a hotel, resort, or club Production and banquet experience an asset Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Self-motivated with a commitment to exceptional guest service

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Stand for extended periods in a fast-paced environment * Intermediate level skier to access on-mountain facilities
