Motion Designer - UI/UX Motion (EA SPORTS o American Football)

Please note: this is a 12 month temporary position - must be able to work in Victoria/Vancouver B.C. only.

EA SPORTS is looking for a skilled

Motion Designer

to help shape the future of our American Football experiences. In this role, you'll bring UI concepts to life through expressive, purposeful motion, crafting animatics, visual targets, celebration moments, and interaction flows that elevate clarity, excitement, and player engagement.

What You'll Do


------------------

Create high-quality

animatics, motion studies, and VTARs

that define how UI screens and flows feel in-game. Bring

Figma UI mocks

to life through animation, focusing on readability, pacing, and interaction clarity. Design

celebration moments, feedback cues, and micro-interactions

that enhance player emotion without compromising usability. Collaborate closely with UI/UX, art direction, and engineering to ensure motion is both inspiring and feasible for implementation. Contribute to

motion guidelines

and help maintain a consistent motion language across the game. Support in-engine tuning of animations and create

flipbook animations

to help achieve final in-game motion quality.

What We're Looking For


--------------------------

8-10+ years

of motion design experience in games, interactive media, or high-end digital products. Expertise in

After Effects

, and strong proficiency in

Cinema 4D or Blender

, and functional understanding of Figma A deep understanding of

UI/UX principles

, animation fundamentals, and how motion supports accessibility and player comprehension. Ability to balance

excitement and clarity

, creating motion that enhances gameplay without overwhelming it. Strong communication skills and experience working in cross-disciplinary teams. (Bonus) Familiarity with game engines and animation curve tuning (Unreal, Unity, Frostbite, etc.).

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS



The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).

PAY RANGES




British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) $119,600 - $167,300 CAD
In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, and extended health/dental/vision coverage and basic life insurance.
