Our success is built on strong partnerships with customers, brokers, and referral sources, and we're looking for a Mortgage Underwriter who shares that commitment.

Reporting to the Director of Underwriting, you will play a key role in evaluating mortgage applications, managing risk, and building lasting broker relationships to help us achieve our growth and portfolio quality goals.

What You'll Bring

Post-secondary diploma/degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years' experience in mortgage underwriting or lending. Completion of the Mortgage Agent Course (asset). Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment.
What You'll Do

Review and verify mortgage applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with underwriting guidelines. Use strong judgment to support or approve applications while detecting and reporting any misrepresentation. Review supporting documentation to satisfy financing conditions. Build and maintain strong broker relationships through ongoing communication, training, and guidance. Provide clear, accurate, and professional communication with internal and external stakeholders. Meet turnaround times and contribute to volume, efficiency, and quality targets. Escalate unusual financial and non-financial transactions as required.
