RFA?s residential mortgage lending business is operated by RFA Mortgage Corporation and RFA Bank of Canada, a federally regulated Schedule I Bank. RFA Mortgage Corporation specializes in Prime lending (Insured, Insurable, Uninsurable), while RFA Bank of Canada is a balance sheet based Alternative mortgage lender (Alt-A and B lending). The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Fulfillment, the Mortgage Fulfillment Officer supports the underwriting and credit decision process by reviewing all required documentation and applying sound due diligence.


Operations
  • Review and verification of the required underwriting documentation with a strong emphasis on knowledge of income, down payment and property documentation. The incumbent will ensure that documentation adheres to corporate guidelines and is thoroughly verified for accuracy with strong file notation while also focusing on anti-money laundering (AML) requirements.
  • Complete employment verifications with sound due diligence
  • Correct data entry errors based on documentation and information received during the file review
  • Solution oriented individual who can operate in a high-paced work environment and is comfortable working with multiple stakeholders to find alternative solutions to deal scenarios while ensuring Corporate guidelines are adhered to.
  • Working closely with senior mortgage underwriters and mortgage funders to identify and address inconsistencies when reviewing documentation against mortgage application.
  • Responsible for escalating any inaccuracies, issues, or items that are incomplete and potentially present risk to the Company. Any documentation issues are to be managed according to Company guidelines which can include escalating to the underwriter for sign off.
  • Communicate with internal contacts (management, underwriters, funders, administrators, and mortgage sales staff) and external contacts (mortgage brokers and clients) to ensure transactions are processed in a timely and efficient manner in order to meet deadlines.
  • Monitor changes to deals and update files as required. The incumbent must send correspondence to the appropriate parties apprising them of changes. The incumbent must also ensure the internal stakeholder review queries are dealt with in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Effectively follow up with mortgage brokers and sales team for unsigned commitments and outstanding underwriting documentation through effective pipeline loan management.
  • Establishes and maintains positive relationships with mortgage brokers to build loyalty.
  • Meet and maintain a strong compliance results on monthly audits.
  • Send completed files to Quality Control and Funding in a timely manner for review while maintaining strong compliance results on monthly audits
  • Investigate internal and external customer complaints and track complaints until resolved or escalated to the Designated Officer.

Customer Experience
  • Provide the highest level of internal and external customer service while fielding mortgage broker and client inquiries.
  • Ensure all inquiries are effectively and accurately investigated, responded to, and resolved to the satisfaction of clients.

What you can bring to RFA:
  • Previous experience with mortgage products, specifically in relation to documentation review, customer service, administration processes, funding, and legal documentation an asset
  • A high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel products.
  • General Knowledge of basic accounting principles would be helpful.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills through both email and on the phone
