MUST BE MONTESSORI CERTIFIED
Follow Montessori philosophy. Give Montessori presentations, relative to the age/level of the child. Lead activities by being a positive role model for behaviour in the classroom.
Provide a quality caring and supportive Montessori program to the children, addressing their unique needs.
Meet all regulatory standards, policies and procedures.
Follow the direction of the Administrator.
Carry out, and assess developmentally appropriate activities and experiences in harmony with the Montessori philosophy.
Assist children in expressing themselves by listening and responding with questions or comments that are supportive and positive.
Use Montessori teaching techniques including modelling, observing, demonstrating and reinforcing
Encourage and assist children to practice self help
Provide experiences that actively promote diversity and acceptance in interactions and attitudes
Ensure guidance of children's behaviour that encourages positive self concept
Set reasonable behaviour expectations consistent with the school's philosophy and policies
Provide positive guidelines such as redirecting, positive language and positive reinforcement
Immediately address problem behaviour without labelling the child. Follow behaviour guidance and policies established by the School and consistent with accepted practice in the field Ensure the child's environment is healthy and safe
Carry out the responsibilities assigned to you
Attend required staff meetings
Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the School's children, their parents, and staff
Maintain regular attendance and punctuality
Maintain a positive working relationship with other Blaisdale Montessori school staff
Ensure that the children's environment and materials are clean, safe and maintained. Cleaning of community areas if required.
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
Follow the direction of the Administrator.
Model and facilitate positive techniques for conflict resolution. Adhere to a policy of confidentiality and respect regarding issues with students, the school families and other staff members.
May be requested to assist in hot lunch duties and assist in other classes.

MACTE Montessori training, Criminal Reference check with the Vulnerable Sector Bondable
Suitability: A warm demeanor, Effective interpersonal skills; Flexibility; Team player; Excellent oral communication; Excellent written communication; Interpersonal awareness; Dependability; Judgement; Values and ethics; Reliability; Professional communication with Principal, Supervisor, co-workers and parents.
Demonstrate the ability to plan and implement group activities with Principal or Supervisors approval. The applicant should also be a self-starter who takes initiative to add to the classroom, be a warm, caring individual who loves children with a desire to work in a school setting and contribute to a collaborative, team philosophy. Be responsible, patient and must have good classroom management skills.
Work as team players with the all Blaisdale Montessori School employees and families of the school. Be willing to step into another class if requested, in emergency or unforeseeable circumstances.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.15-$26.40 per hour
