To coordinate the care of each patient\xe2\x80\x99s needs through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The needs of the family will be identified, and the appropriate resources notified.
As a member of an interdisciplinary team, provides quality patient care within the scope of professional nursing practice to patients and their families while focusing on Patient and Family Centred Care.
The successful candidate will be required to complete orientation to provide care to children admitted to Pediatric Intensive Care requiring close assessment and observation as per acuity. Although primarily assigned to Pediatrics the incumbent will be required to work within the Women and Children\xe2\x80\x99s Health Program as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
Active registration with NANB
Current BCLS certification
One (1) year experience in Pediatrics and/or (2) two years medical/surgical nursing including care of children
Breast feeding training completed within 1st year of hire
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within (1) one year from hire
Pediatric Intensive Care orientation within 1st year of hire
Demonstrate communication, interpersonal, teaching and team building skills
Demonstrate assessment skills and ability to function independently with minimal supervision
Demonstrate ability to respond to emergency situations, rapidly changing priorities and complex patient situations
Ability to perform the duties of the position.
Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
