CLASSIFICATION: RNCA Registered Nurse Class A

LANGUAGE: English Essential and spoken French

HOURS OF WORK: Rotating Days, Evenings, Subject to change due to operational requirements

SALARY: $35.34 to $44.77 per hour

JOB PURPOSE:

To holistically coordinate the care of each patient, incorporating the nursing profession's values of knowledge, theory and practice. To assess, plan, implement and evaluate the needs of pre and post-operative patients and significant others in the delivery of care and collaborate with all members of the interdisciplinary team in this approach. Includes emphasis on patient/family teaching.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate nurse - actively registered in New Brunswick, or eligible for such registration.
• Previous Day Surgery experience and/or two (2) years of experience in medical/surgical nursing.
• Strong surgical experience with immediate pre-op and post-op surgical patients preferred.
• May be required to float to peri-operative assessment clinic.
• Skills required in pre-op admission and surgical prep, as well as patient discharges.
• Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
• Ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Good work record.
• Written and spoken competence in English (B2.1 or Advanced) and spoken competence in French (B1.2 or Intermediate Plus) are required.
