JOB PURPOSE

The Patient Care Attendant 1 is responsible for performing duties that assist patients with the activities of daily living.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school graduation plus a patient care program/course of at least six months duration or equivalent. Ability to attend work on a regular basis. Ability to perform the duties of the position. Good work record

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Patient Care Attendant 1 is responsible for:

Assisting with feeding, bathing, and dressing Assisting with mobilizing, positioning and transferring patients Portering patients to activities and appointments Delivering and assisting with meal trays and snacks Transporting items such as specimens and charts Restocking linens and supplies Making beds and tidying rooms Cleaning and disinfecting equipment and instruments
