POSITION SUMMARY:



Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Molding Millwright Apprentice is responsible for assisting in performing Preventative Maintenance and overhauls on molding machines used in the Molding shop. The Apprentice supports the troubleshooting and repair of machinery, including hydraulics and pneumatics, while working under the guidance of a licensed Millwright.



POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:



Assist in monitoring and ensuring Health & Safety, HACCP, SQF, and 5S compliance by learning to identify hazards and suggesting ways to eliminate them. Support the correction of conditions, strictly follow all health & safety policies, and participate in Safety Investigations under supervision when required. Develop knowledge and compliance regarding lock-out procedures and assist in providing safety training or demonstrations when required. Assist in performing preventative maintenance on Molding Machines, Thermoformers, and IML equipment, including taking machines apart, cleaning, and inspecting bushings, seals, and bearings for wear and tear. Support the replacement of faulty parts and assist in the re-assembly and testing of machines. Assist in resolving equipment breakdowns by participating in troubleshooting and repair activities alongside a licensed Millwright. Support hydraulic troubleshooting by assisting in the inspection of pumps, valves, cylinders, and pistons; help change hydraulic fluids and assist in rebuilding or resealing cylinders and valves. Support pneumatic troubleshooting by assisting in the inspection of air valves, air cylinders, and pistons. Perform regular housekeeping duties by cleaning machinery and auxiliary equipment after service and maintaining the shop in a clean and orderly manner. Collaborate with production personnel to locate and correct non-electrical related problems and support other maintenance departments during peak loads. Perform other duties as assigned to support the maintenance team and further apprenticeship training.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:



Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent; College diploma in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering is an asset Willingness to undertake the Millwright Certification program Fluent in English with good verbal and written communication skills.
