Demir Engineering has an exciting opportunity within the Edmonton foundry shop, seeking a "
Mold Assembler
". The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in foundry production by effectively operating machinery to prepare sand mold and tooling to cast in the foundry shop. This position requires a combination of technical expertise and physical dexterity to successfully keep the molding operating at maximum efficiency.
- Carrying out all post processing required after printing the foundry sand molds, cores and other printed or molded items includes cleaning the printed products, washing and coating with refractory coats, assembling and clamping the molds.
- In charge of boxing the mold (flasking) and preparing the mold ready for pouring and casting.
- Participate in handling the molten metal on ladle to cast the prepared molds and mold shakeout.
- In charge of operating the mold refractory coating station (mold wash) as well maintaining the equipment and keeping the station clean and ready.
- Maintaining and monitoring all required raw materials to run mold cleaning, washing, assembling and boxing for current and future product requirements based on production plans and level of inventory.
- Managing and maintaining all required tools to run the workstation and carrying out the assigned tasks.
- Manage and handle the waste produced by running the molding station.
- Teamwork with mechanical engineers and engineering teams to design and build tools and equipment required for in-house foundry and manufacturing operation.
- Leading hand and provide help to engineering and production teams as per request.
- Cooperating with Engineering team and Quality Assurance Manager to maintain and satisfy company QMS.
- Responsible for keeping the production environment safe, clean, and well maintained. Taking timely action to correct unsafe work conditions.
- Attending training and courses to keep up with emerging technologies.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned by the manager.
Qualifications:
Experience working in a foundry setting or steel mill is an asset.
Experience of working with heavy equipment required, including overhead cranes, forklifts, and skid steers.
