Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction estimating and project management, with a proven ability to analyze project specifications and develop accurate cost estimates. This role requires excellent negotiation skills and familiarity with construction contracts, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.

Duties

Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects. Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam to create precise estimates and manage project data effectively. Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate pricing. Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather data that may impact project costs. Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing. Monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints. Prepare detailed reports on estimates, including breakdowns of labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs. Assist in contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors to secure favorable terms for the company.

Experience

Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is essential. Familiarity with construction management principles and practices is highly desirable. Strong understanding of cost control measures and pricing strategies within the construction industry. Experience working on construction sites is an asset, providing practical insight into project execution. Proficiency in using estimating software such as Bluebeam is preferred. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all estimates prepared.
