Job Summary



Responsible forthe overall design, specification, inspections and supervision of projects. Represents the organization in the business community. Promotes good public relations, acts as a resource person and recommends pro-active strategies to improve and grow services.

Duties



1. Ensures that all policies and procedures are followed.

2. Develops the construction and modernization business and ensure profitability of this profit centre.

3. Cultivates existing relationships and ensures customer satisfaction.

4. Cultivates modernization business and ensures positive growth through planning.

5. Performs inspections.

6. Performs technical audits.

7. Performs reserve fund studies.

8. Performs due diligence and peer review audits.

9. Prepares specifications for modernizations, maintenance contracts, repairs, construction and demolition.

10. Responsible for the ongoing project management and reporting of modernization, construction, and repair projects assigned.

11. Co-ordinates and monitors all modernizations, construction, repair and demolition work. Prepares minutes for meetings and monthly reviews.

12. Communicates with the Director/President on an ongoing basis keeping him apprised of changes and difficulties.

13. Provides information, assists with correspondence, plans and implements projects.

14. Ensures the confidentiality of tools and programs developed by Solucore.

15. Identifies gaps in service both within and outside the organization and makes

recommendations to improve service and advocates when necessary.

16. Facilitates the employer's participation in various cooperative meetings and initiatives at various levels, including attending and/or hosting meetings as directed.

17. Notifies the Director/President, in writing immediately regarding any concerns about

programs, safety, and other issues related to the organization.

18. Network with other organizations especially clients to ensure that the knowledge of the industry remains current.

19. Responds in a timely fashion to enquiries and general correspondence.

20. Cultivates new relationships and strengthens existing ones through on-going relationships and communications with clients.

21. Contacts and builds new clientele on an ongoing basis to ensure company growth.

Job Requirements



The position requires in-depth knowledge of the elevator industry and safety issues related thereto. Strength in mechanical and electrical engineering. An elevating device mechanic, class A or F (an "EDM-A or EDM-F certificate"). An elevating device inspector, NAESA QEI certification is a plus. Professional Engineer designation is a plus. The position requires the ability to manage and administer the day-to-day field inspections, modernization, repair and construction functions, the ability to prioritize, to plan and respond to multiple demands on an ongoing basis. The Employee is responsible for making decisions and recommendations regarding problem sites and ability to troubleshoot problems and identify source of problems for the Clients. High speed internet access at home. Strong computer and communication skills. Ability to hold meetings and present information to clients and senior management. The job requires the incumbent to be able to work both as a team member and independently. The job requires good analytical skills, creativity, flexibility and the ability to recognize when additional input into decisions is necessary. The incumbent is expected to work flexible hours as required. However, the job may require some evening and on-call work. The position requires travel by car around the Region and from time to time outside the Region. The job requires knowledge of the Technical Standards & Safety Act, 2000, Ontario Regulation 221/01 & 209/01 and CAN/CSA B44 latest editions and supplements. The job also requires familiarity with the Canadian National Building Code and National Electric Code. The job requires mental ability to ride and inspect elevator car tops, ability to work with height, inspecting pits and small spaces, working with loud machinery and in the proximity of moving equipment. The job requires physical ability to carry a tool bag with equipment for inspection purposes while climbing a ladder or walking flights of stairs. The job requires interpersonal skill to ease the stress of passengers while riding the elevator with the Employee performing inspections. The job requires the Employee to act in a safe behaviour and as such the follow government guidelines as per O. Reg. 209/01 and in accordance with TSSA. The job requires business attire during meetings with clients and business casual during inspections.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
