Overview:

The Mobile Technology Lead is accountable for the quality and timely completion of a project's technical deliverables. This is a leadership role that comprises aspects of software engineering, system architecture, team management, and people management. The Mobile Technology Lead will oversee the delivery of 1-2 projects.

The Mobile Technology Lead is specialized in Mobile Application Development but they have a broad understanding of front-end, back-end, mobile, dev-ops and testing techniques. This assists the Mobile Technology Lead in proposing effective solutions and facilitating communication and collaboration amongst the team. The Mobile Technology Lead writes enough code to keep their skills current and relevant. They may also write code in order to fill gaps in the team's skillset. However, The Mobile Technology Lead should not write code if the time required compromises their other responsibilities.

The Mobile Technology Lead understands that software development can be a challenging and stressful process at times. They promote a calm, positive, supportive and solution-oriented atmosphere within the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Translate requirements from stakeholders into implementable features by the development team
• Balance the technical requirements and the needs of stakeholders in planning out implementation details
• Create and maintain documentation, implement and follow best practices for development workflow
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure deadlines are met
• Mentor Junior developers
• Bring ideas to the table to ensure we produce the best solutions for our clients
• Stay current on changes in technology and keep adding to your skill set
• Manage and maintain client relationships and be able to present and explain solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in mobile development using React Native in a production environment
• Minimum 2 years of experience in backend applications development
• Minimum 7 years total professional experience
• Expertise in TypeScript, both in frontend and backend contexts
• Expertise in specific performance optimization techniques for mobile platforms.
• Experience using testing frameworks and best practices
• Experience leading a team of engineers in building and maintaining solutions
• Top-notch communication skills
• The resilience to work in a flexible environment with teams of various sizes
• Passionate about technology and digital products
• Highly collaborative; team player

AREAS OF LEARNING/OTHER BENEFICIAL SKILLS:

• Experience with using Kotlin or Swift in native mobile application development
• Working knowledge of DevOps
• Working knowledge of AWS
