Job Description

GRAYFRAME Ltd. is a formwork company that was established in 2004. It is a fast-paced ever-evolving company with over a dozen varied projects on the go at any one time. We are looking for someone to join our crew as soon as possible. The focus of Grayframe is concrete formwork, which includes the use of mobile and tower cranes, telehandlers, and various lifting equipment.

Candidates should be prepared to work flexible hours, early morning, later shifts, and weekends. Overtime may be required. Applicants must have a minimum of 1 year of experience as a mobile crane operator in the heavy commercial construction industry. Candidates must have good English communication skills, and follow safe work practices, including Alberta OH&S Legislation.

The position is available for a 2 month period with the possibility of a permanent position.

The position will include, but may not be limited to, the following duties:

Inspecting a load for safe lifting.

Communicating clearly with the rigger/signaler.

Performing load chart and lift calculations, recording the results thus ensuring safe lifts.

Inspecting the crane and its components, recording the results.

Communicating any crane deficiencies to the supervisor on site.

Supervise and train the rigger/signaler ensuring they are always in a safe position.

Be aware of site conditions that could adversely affect the safe operation of the crane.

Be aware of weather conditions and forecasts.

Review planned operations with the rigger/signaler and/or supervisor.

Find out load weights before lifting the load.

Operate the crane as per the manufacturer's requirements, local laws, including OH&S Code and CSA Z-150 and company policies.

Know basic rigging procedures.

Establishing weights, dimensions and any other load related variables.

Capable of judging distances, heights, and clearances.

Capable of selecting the appropriate lifting gear and rigging for the task.

Safely shut down the crane.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:

Journeyman certification for mobile crane operation.

At least 1 year of experience operating an RT crane.

Exceptional teamwork.

Experience with concrete formwork and its components an asset.

Tower crane experience an asset.

Articulating boom crane experience an asset.

Truck-mount crane experience an asset.

Telehandler experience an asset.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract

Pay: $40.00-$49.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 60 per week
