Your opportunity:
The Institute for Management & Innovation (IMI) is the Centre for professional management education at U of T Mississauga and has a strong administrative teamthat supports our six professional graduate programs and our undergraduate programs in management. The MMPA Program is accredited by CPA Canada and CPA Ontario and provides a solid grounding in business, combined with depth in professional accounting.

The MMPA Program offers a 24-, 27- and 12-month stream. The MMPA 24/27 Program also includes two, four-month work terms (January to April) and the 12-month Program offers one work term. This enables MMPA students to solidify their classroom learnings on the job and start developing their entry-level CPA competencies. The MMPA Program is a fully integrated program. The MMPA is a unique program that draws students from all over the world, as well as from non-business, non-accounting educational backgrounds.

The MMPA Program Coordinator will work closely with the Assistant Program Director, Registrarial MMPA & MFAcc and other IMI staff in support of program administration and recruitment strategies in attracting and advising potential applicants, students and other external contacts for the MMPA Program.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Interpreting academic regulations, program and degree requirements
  • Advising potential applicants, students, parents, and/or guidance counselors on admissions criteria and processes by probing and providing a range of options and possible consequences
  • Analyzing, scoring and ranking incoming applications
  • Drafting appeals and cases for special consideration
  • Developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials
  • Keeping well-informed on University programs, policies and procedures
  • Directing the activities of a single ongoing staff-appointed employee
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three years related administrative experience preferably in a university or other educational environment.
  • Experience in the administration and interpretation of graduate and other academic policies and procedures.
  • Experience developing and maintaining websites.
  • Experience in the areas of registration and record management, and studentadmissions
  • Experience with liaising with faculty and university staff.
  • Computer expertise, PC or Mac; Microsoft Office Suite. Desktop publishing software
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to exercise patience, discretion, good judgement, tact, diplomacy and confidentiality.
Assets (Nonessential):
  • Experience working with ROSI or equivalent student information system software.
