Department/Unit/Program Description

The Ross Memorial Hospital (RMH) Laboratory is provincially accredited by the Institute for Quality Management in Healthcare and provides the following onsite services: Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine, Phlebotomy and Electrocardiograms. In addition to the onsite services, RMH has partnered with other Ontario Laboratories such as Public Health, Dynacare and Peterborough Regional Health Centre, to facilitate a larger scope of testing.

The laboratory is committed to the provision of a quality laboratory service that ensures delivery of clinically relevant, accurate and timely diagnostic services. Position Summary

The Laboratory department is currently looking for a Permanent Part-Time Medical Laboratory Technologist to join their healthcare team.

Required - ASAP

Essential Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario
• Certification with the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science
• Demonstrated ability to deal co-operatively and effectively with all levels of staff, patients and the public
• Demonstrated high level of communication, organizational and time management skills
• Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis

Preferred Qualifications

• Recent general core Laboratory (Haematology/Chemistry/Blood Bank) experience

Hours of Work

Must be available to work a rotation of all three (3) shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per OPSEU Collective Agreement.
