Job Description


GENERAL PURPOSE: The Mix Operator will operate all mix plant processes in accordance with mix operating manuals. The Mix Operator will hold responsibility for pre-staging of raw materials, both majors and minors, in accordance with the needs of weekly production, and will perform all mixing and packaging, as required, while maintaining quality and efficiency of all production processes. RESPONSIBILITIES: \xc2\xb7 Operates Nauta and Ribbon mixers proficiently, ensuring exact amounts of all ingredients are accurately added. \xc2\xb7 Performs and records all required quality control tests. \xc2\xb7 Accurately completes all production reports. \xc2\xb7 Ensures an exact preparation of all raw materials used in the mixing process. \xc2\xb7 Produces I.P. mix based on production orders and packs as necessary in accordance with all packaging standards. \xc2\xb7 Operates and maintains accurate and efficient performance on all mixing and packaging lines, ensuring that established standards are met. \xc2\xb7 Ensures that all bags and skids are sealed, coded and numbered correctly, immediately correcting any related problems. \xc2\xb7 Ensures that all packed products meet quality standards and are stacked correctly. \xc2\xb7 Ensures that all sanitation standards are maintained during mixing process and at the completion of each shift. \xc2\xb7 Helps identify new ways to improve the efficiency and safety of the overall Mix Plant operation. \xc2\xb7 Abides by all sanitary/hygiene rules governing the Mix Plant processes. \xc2\xb7 Carries out all necessary sanitation and maintenance during the provided shut-down periods. \xc2\xb7 Is aware of critical control points as they relate to product liability. \xc2\xb7 Works responsibly throughout scheduled shifts. \xc2\xb7 Responsible for compliance with Canada Labour Occupational Health and Safety requirements and company safety standards. \xc2\xb7 Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP\xe2\x80\x99s) while performing job duties and tasks. \xc2\xb7 Performs other tasks, including training, as required. QUALIFICATIONS: \xc2\xb7 Completion of Grade 12 or equivalency. \xc2\xb7 Aptitude for computerized control systems. \xc2\xb7 Mechanical aptitude for diagnosing and solving problems. \xc2\xb7 Good working relationship with Mix Plant team, management, and fellow employees. \xc2\xb7 Self starter, with the ability to use initiative and work as part of a team. \xc2\xb7 Licensed to operate forklifts and lift trucks. \xc2\xb7 Available for shift work as required.
