Mississauga Hospital - Full Time (Temp) Parking & Enforcement Guard

Key Responsibilities:
This role will primarily be spent outside, supporting external operations and working alongside Parking leadership to execute a variety of external tasks
Supporting parking capacity pressures at the MH campus, supporting overflow procedure if and when required (redirecting parkers to available parking on campus, redirecting parkers to offsite locations based on guidance from Parking leadership)
Monitoring & reporting external conditions during a winter storm, and working alongside Parking leadership to ensure concerns are escalated accordingly
External rounding to collect wheelchairs & issuance of parking infractions to improperly parked vehicles
Providing customer service (offering wayfinding assistance to patients & visitors accessing the campus) safety-relatedness related concerns to the THP Security team (motor vehicle, wildlife on property, suspicious individuals, emergency codes, etc.)
Assisting with blocking off parking spots, based on a request from Parking leadership, to support external projects or special events
Prerequisites:
Minimum one year of security experience
Post Secondary education in a Law Enforcement/Security program from a recognized college
Working knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act and Mental Health Act
Demonstrated punctuality and reliability, tact and diplomacy
A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
Vulnerable Sector Check
Immunization Record (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella and TB)
COVID Double Vaccination
Customer Service Experience
Excellent oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build relationships with patients, visitors, and staff
Excellent organizational, time management problem-solving skills
Demonstrates ability to think proactively and to engage stakeholders accordingly
Demonstrates effectiveness at leading and working within a team setting, as well as working independently
Ability to work under pressure and multi-task / prioritize tasks effectively
Ability to communicate effectively during stressful situations
Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
