About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Performance and Analytics and through the Manager to the Director, Performance, Analytics and Accountability, the MIS Statistical Coordinator has primary responsibility to Nova Scotia Health to support the mission, vision and strategic directions by assisting with maintaining the MIS data and providing reports that can be used throughout the organization.

The MIS Statistical Coordinator position supports and enhances the use of MIS data information and analysis functions related to MIS. Responsibilities include analyzing reports, collecting and recording statistics, organizing and maintaining information related to MIS, creating statistical reports, responding to MIS queries. Uploading and maintaining MIS data.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Completion of Business, Information Management Administration or Health Information Management program; or Baccalaureate degree in health-related field, informatics, mathematics / statistics, or business; An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • 3 years relevant recent experience required
  • Experience and demonstrated expertise in data extraction, data management, and descriptive statistics
  • Proficiency with micro-computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office suite of products including Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of information management principles including information dissemination and exchange, data collection methodologies and data quality
  • Experience and demonstrated expertise with information systems, such as SAP, Meditech, STAR, EDIS, etc.
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets and high volumes of information
  • Knowledge of MIS standards and guidelines related to statistical data reporting requirements and workload measurement systems considered an asset
  • Ability to produce professional reports and presentation materials
  • Possess critical thinking and problem solving abilities
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to develop and foster relationships with all levels of administrative and clinical management
  • Ability to deal with leaders, managers and teams regarding sensitive and confidential matters
  • Works independently
  • Competencies in other languages an asset; French preferred

  • x2 Permanent, Full-time position, 70 hrs bi-weekly
Compensation and Incentives

$28.01 - $30.76 hourly
