HOURS OF WORK: Rotating Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends, Statutory Holidays, FTE: 0.72, Subject to change due to operational requirements

SALARY: $29.33 to $31.50 per hour

JOB PURPOSE:

Provide nursing care to patients, within the scope of educational preparation, under the supervision of a nurse. May assist the Nurse in complex nursing situations. Expected to exercise judgment in accepting responsibility appropriate to job description and preparation, and are accountable for own actions. Treat all patients with respect and dignity and adhere to the values and Mission of the Hospital.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate from an approved School of Licensed Practical Nurses.
• Must be registered with the N.B. Association of Licensed Practical Nurses and renew annually.
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrate initiative and good judgement.
• Demonstrated adherence to legislation and Horizon Health Network confidentiality policy to ensure all patient, business, financial, and employee information is accessed on a need to know basis.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts as assigned, including weekends and holidays.
• Willingness to participate in continuing education programs as required. Current nursing experience in related field.
• Must be willing to rotate to other areas of hospital, if assigned. Current in CPR and recertified yearly.
• Patient Safety is a critical aspect of quality healthcare. Successful candidates must be accountable for creating a culture of safety, working as a team, communicating effectively and responding to adverse events.
• Must have successful completion of instruction in nursing module, OE and PCI modules.
• Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
• Ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Good work record.
• Written and spoken competence in English is required.
