Horizon Health Network (Horizon) is seeking a strategic, logical, perceptive individual to join our team as Business Manager Critical Services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the completion of non-clinical duties related to the Patient Care Units. This position will report directly to an Administrative Director within the Clinical Services Portfolio. To ensure a successful work environment, collaboration with the Nurse Managers of the identified units, is essential.

Who you are
You have a Bachelor\'s degree in Business Administration or Health related field; demonstrated leadership and communication skills (oral and written), strong interpersonal skills and ability to act as a change agent; demonstrated problem solving, conflict resolution and time management skill; initiative, sound judgment and decision-making skills; ability to work both on a team and independently physical capacity to carry out the work assigned; demonstrated adherence to relevant legislation including the Personal Health Information Privacy and Access Act to ensure all patient, business, financial and employee information is accessed on a need-to-know basis;
Patient safety is a critical aspect of quality healthcare. Successful candidates must be accountable for creating a culture of safety, working as a team, communicating effectively, and responding to adverse events
You have the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with a variety of health care providers, including nurses, physicians, managers, and staff from other disciplines; excellent analytical skills with demonstrated ability to provide detailed reports and analysis as required; demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft software programs

What you will do
On-boarding of Staff
In consultation with the NM, prepares itacit and Access requests for new positions and securing staff for unit vacancies.
Organizes the on boarding of all new staff including those transferring in from other units. Includes form completion, organizing and scheduling of orientations and communication with pertinent stakeholders such as the NM
Collaborates with Talent Acquisition team to schedule interviews between potential candidates and the Manager
Organizes in collaboration with the Nurse Managers, Preceptorship and Clinical Placements for students
Human Resources
Participates in and completes follow up for Attendance Management issues with staff
Participates in Disability Management meetings with staff
Organizes gradual return to work. Completes all related forms and approves schedules. Collaborates with the Nurse Managers, to develop plans and requirements for a successful return to work on a gradual basis
Collaborates with the Nurse Managers on issues related to staffing and processes defined from the Regional Staff Scheduling Center
Monitors and provides data to Nurse Manager related to staff mandatory learning and program specific learning
Monitors type and use of human resources and provides recommendations to achieve efficiencies while considering both short- and long-term implications of proposed changes Develops innovative solutions and strategies to issues where no precedent may exist
Finance
Reviews and reconciles all changes to staff
