is seeking an experienced
Mining Technician
for our explosives distribution and blasting operations at our
Cote Gold
site
in Ontario
. Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will work closely with our technical and operational team, following a management philosophy based on teamwork, innovation, respect, safety and passion for what we do. You will provide comprehensive and tailored technical solutions in mining, geological and blasting expertise to meet our customer's needs on site. Your role will be to provide technical assistance and optimize internal and operational blasting processes for the use of
EPC Canada
explosives.
Roles & Responsibilities
Promote, apply and ensure compliance with all occupational health and safety rules, standards and best practices, in collaboration with the QSSE department;
Collaborate in the planning of production and delivery operations to ensure that work proceeds according to the engineering team's forecasts;
Design blast plans for blasting operations and 3D profiling of free faces;
Promote and develop the 3D model for digitizing firing plans;
Use and implement advanced mining techniques (vibration measurements, deviation measurements, loading plan, etc.);
Perform technical analysis of products using specialized instruments (viscosity, density, detonation velocity);
Participate in programming and connecting electronic detonators;
Monitor the progress of shooting plans and ensure that the site database is filled in to track shootings;
Check and carry out technical tests on products in line with customer requirements (VOD, density, viscosity, castability, Nox);
Produce a complete blasting report, taking into account the quality of the teams' work (quality assurance/control, loading and operation of mobile explosives manufacturing units);
Assist the firefighter in carrying out his/her tasks (site preparation, explosives inventory, filling (tamping) boreholes, installing detonators, etc.);
Perform all other tasks related to the position.
