Wood is seeking a Mining Study Project Manager for our Mining and Minerals EPCM business in Vancouver, BC.

We are looking for a talented Mining Study Project Manager with superior Pre-Feasibility & Feasibility knowledge and experience, strong leadership skills, and specific knowledge and experience with lithium, gold, copper and other precious metals.

The Study Project Manager will have overall responsibility for overseeing the development of budgets, schedules and reports as well as for the management and coordination of project staff and sub-contractors to ensure safe, cost effective, efficient and timely completion of Studies in order to meet and/or exceed client expectations.

Wood mining has over 65 years of Mining EPCM, Consulting, Design & Build experience on major projects in Canada, and around the globe. We continue to grow our mining & Minerals business, and expand our footprint in Canada and the USA.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the Study execution strategy
• Ensure overall project scope of services and scope of work is performed in a safe, cost effective and timely manner that meets and/or exceeds client expectations
• Provide leadership to the project team on HSSE matters and ensure that all employees and contractors carry out their duties and responsibilities as defined in the project HSSE execution plan
• Monitor and review all project delivery components including administration, document control, project control, staff planning, engineering, supply chain management, construction, and pre-commissioning
• Oversee the development of all project budgets, schedules and progress reports
• Develop and manage project-specific change and risk management systems
• Ensure project requirements for permits, licenses and regulatory agency approvals are met and up to date
• Organize and lead planning sessions, team building workshops and project coordination meetings
• Ensure an appropriate review process is implemented for the project including internal and client project reviews, risk reviews, constructability and independent peer reviews

Skills / Qualifications

• Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Engineering, from a recognized university
• With 10+ years of relevant experience in a Mining Consulting environment, mining construction and/or operations
• Must have a minimum of 5 years as a Study Project Manager on large industrial projects ($500Mn-$1 Bn)
• Mining Study project execution experience is essential
• Experience in managing greenfield, or large brownfield projects is required
• Demonstrated ability to develop new, proprietary and innovative solutions to current processes
• Strong Leadership, solid communication & interpersonal skills are required;
• Completion of a diploma or degree in a certified project management program is considered an asset
• A willingness to travel, both domestic and internationally, for varying durations and at times to remote locations
• Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship.
