Magna Mining Inc. is a Sudbury-focused, base metal exploration and development company.



Magna Mining's key objective is to become the next nickel and copper producing company in Canada by executing a growth strategy that is focused exclusively on the historic nickel producing district of Sudbury, ON.



We intend to achieve this objective via the creation of a Sudbury focused, hub and spoke production model, with our existing Shakespeare project as the hub. The path to the creation of a significant new battery metals producing Canadian company is to execute a long term, multi-faceted growth strategy.

The Mining Engineering Co-op applies academic knowledge and previous work experiences to support the engineering team at Magna Mining's operations.

Responsibilities:



Assist in the development of short-term mine plans that align with organization strategy. Perform underground surveys, data collection, and mapping. Support ventilation, ground control, and drilling and blasting programs. Monitor and report on production metrics and operational performance. Participate in safety inspections and hazard identification. Prepare technical reports, presentations and documentation.

Requirements

Qualifications: Formal Education, Certifications or Equivalents



Enrolled in 3rd or 4th year of post-secondary education in Mining Engineering, or a related field.


Work Experience: Nature & Length



12 months or more of experience in underground mine engineering.

Key Competencies: Behaviours & Skills



Knowledge of mine design and planning software. Knowledge of the principles and practices of mine engineering. Proficient with common computer skills including preparation of documents and presentations, spreadsheet use, database data entry, and email use. Proven analytical skills with attention to detail. Written and verbal communication skills.
