About Island Gold District:
Alamos Gold's Island Gold District will become one of the largest and lowest-cost gold mines in Canada. Role Overview:
Reporting to the Superintendent, Mine Maintenance, the Supervisor, Mine Maintenance will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of all mobile equipment used in mining operations. This includes heavy machinery such as trucks, loaders, dozers, and drills. The successful candidate will lead a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring that equipment downtime is minimized and that all maintenance activities are conducted safely and efficiently.
Primary Responsibilities:
Supervise a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
Plan and prioritize maintenance activities to ensure that equipment downtime is minimized and that production targets are met.
Coordinate with other departments to schedule equipment repairs and maintenance during planned downtime.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to extend the lifespan of equipment and reduce unexpected breakdowns.
Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment histories, and inventory levels.
Collaborate with procurement and inventory management teams to ensure that spare parts and consumables are available when needed.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
Diploma in Heavy-Duty mechanic or Truck and Coach mechanic
Have a minimum of 10 years of experience as a mechanic.
Strong technical knowledge of mobile equipment systems and components;
Familiarity with preventive maintenance strategies and techniques;
Excellent leadership and communication skills;
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines;
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the mining industry.
