The Mine Geologist will report directly to the Chief Mine Geologist and will collect and interpret underground geological and structural data to support Keno Hill mine development and grade control processes to achieve the mine plan.

The Keno Hill mine, located within the Keno Hill Silver District in Canada\xe2\x80\x99s Yukon Territory. Keno Hill, is one of the highest-grade silver districts in the world, is situated 350 kilometres north of Whitehorse, and lies within the traditional territory of the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyak Dun. It comprises 242 square kilometres (km2) with numerous mineral deposits and more than 35 historical past-producing mine sites. Keno Hill is expected to produce 2.7-3.0 million ounces of silver in 2024 as the mine ramps up production.

Here\xe2\x80\x99s what you can expect in this role:
Respect, know, and promote regulation and policies with regards to health and safety.
Map and sample all ore and waste underground excavations in accordance with established systems.
Direct mining crews to optimize ore extraction to deliver on mine plan.
Digitize and input all geological mapping data into production software.
Submit, track, and review assay results applying established QA/QC protocols.
Apply grade control systems to monitor and track ore and waste haulage.
Construct geological level plans and cross-sections integrating lithological and structural data, current and historic mapping, and drill hole data.
Analyze, validate, and interpret collected and historic data to aid in the construct of geological models.
Log Diamon Drill Core as required.
Communicate with engineering and mining personnel regarding the status of headings, grade control and status of mining plans.
Continuously build and maintain strong working knowledge of relevant software packages including: Deswik, Deswik GeoTools, Leapfrog, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology or closely related field with 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in applied geology in an underground mine.
Be a collaborative team player that works well in multidisciplinary teams comprised of geology, engineering, mill and mine operations.
Registered as, or able to be registered as Geologist in Training.
Experience in the geology of narrow vein precious metals and underground mining.
Underground Mine Rescue Certification considered an asset.
Above average computer skills in CAD software such as Deswik and MS Office Suite.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Valid Class 5 driver\xe2\x80\x99s license.

Work Environment and Job Schedule
Employees will be frequently exposed to; outside weather conditions, snow conditions; extreme cold, extreme heat, potentially hazardous wildlife; moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; explosives and vibration. The noise level in most work environments is occasionally loud. This position will require you to work a rotating shift of 14 days on and 14 days off and you will be provided camp housing and meals.
