Reporting to the Senior Mine Engineer, the Mine Engineer is accountable for the delivery of all technical services for the mine and maintaining optimal short and long term business plans. Supervision of a technical group consisting of mine planning, ventilation, surveying and ground control is included. In addition, the incumbent must efficiently coordinate activities through external resources such as Central Engineering and various consulting firms.
The desired candidate has four to seven years\xe2\x80\x99 experience with strong practical and computer skills in mine design, scheduling and budgeting as well as exposure to ground control, industrial engineering and improvement projects. Mine Engineers in Training with valuable experience will also be considered. Strong leadership and communication skills are a requirement for this position. Operations Supervision and Mine feasibility experience would also be a definite asset as well as exposure to narrow vein mining methods. This is a hands-on position that requires a decisive individual with a high level of initiative who can harness these traits to work effectively within a team environment. Applicant must be eligible or registered with the Professional Engineers of Ontario.
