YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Mine Planning Superintendent, you will be part of the Engineering Department. The Mine EIT will provides support to the various entities within Engineering department as per departmental needs. This rotation within the different entities in the engineering department will provide growth and development for graduate engineers. The length of time at each level will depend on the employee's ability to grasp concepts and demonstrate that he/she can work independently on the subject matter before moving on to the next phase as well as individual departmental needs. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
Rotation within ventilation, surveying, planning and ground control departments
Within each rotation, perform duties of a surveyor, mine planner, ground control tech and/or vent tech as per each job description
Regular underground visits and inspections
Strong focus on safety
Other duties and projects as assigned
Overseen by Chief Engineer for status progress accompaniment
Key relationships vary based on role within each engineering department (i.e. survey, ventilation, planning, etc.)
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
BSc in Mining Engineering (or relevant field)
Entry level position- experience not a pre-requisite
Accuracy and attention to detail
Continuous improvement abilities
Ability to work under pressure
Reliable and self-managing
Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and presentation skills
Strong people skills and an ability to work in a team environment
Working knowledge of mine design software is an asset (AutoCAD, Promine, Deswik)
Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint
