Located in our office in Saskatoon, this position will report to Manager, Mine Development within Nutrien\'s Engineering, Technology and Capital (ETC) department.

What you will do:

  • Work closely with Site Engineering and our ETC teams on a broad range of underground mining and technical projects to support our Potash Operations
  • Involvement in research, data gathering and analysis
  • Report and document preparation
  • Coordination of site and external resources as projects demand
  • Project management
  • Other duties related to supporting mine engineering and potash mining operations, which may include assistance in areas of:
  • Mine design and planning
  • Shaft design
  • Ground control
  • Rock mechanics
  • Backfill projects
  • Mine ventilation
  • Inflow management
  • This job will consist of both office (Saskatoon) and field work at the various Nutrien mine sites. Some travel will be required
What you will bring:
  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or Geological Sciences (or equivalent) from an accredited university
  • Minimum 2 years of engineering work experience.
  • Ability to register for professional designation (P. Geo., P. Eng., Engineer-in-Training, Geoscientist-in-Training)
  • Good oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrate positive safety behavior and safety leadership
  • Strong analytical and computer skills
  • Ability to work with colleagues in a team environment or independently
  • Ability and willingness to learn new skills
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to adapt to sudden changes in work demands
  • Must have the ability and be comfortable with working in an underground mining environment
  • Experience in potash mining and an understanding of mining operations is considered an asset
