About Glencore\xe2\x80\x99s Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations

Sudbury, Ontario, Canada is one of the most geologically rich areas of the world. This northern city in the Canadian Shield boasts a 60-kilometre-long formation called the Sudbury basin, which is brimming with nickel, copper, cobalt, gold, silver, platinum and palladium deposits. It\xe2\x80\x99s also been home to Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations (Sudbury INO) since 1929. Our Sudbury operations include exploration, underground mines, a mill and a smelter, and Onaping Depth, a deep mine project at Craig Mine, all located in this basin. We currently employ more than 1,200 permanent employees and support another 1,200 contractors.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Millwright to join our Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations in Greater Sudbury, Ontario.

The position will be based within our Sudbury Operations

This is a Permanent position.

Duties and Accountabilities:

Works in compliance with the Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations safety rules and the Internal Responsibility System

Receives instructions for assigned tasks in the form of work orders

Aligns couplings between driving and driven equipment and calculates the difference required due to the change in operating temperatures between various units

Fits sleeve bearings or guide ways by scraping or lapping to obtain correct operating clearances

Changes ball or roller bearings on cranes, hoists, mills, blowers, and preloads bearings to manufacturer\xe2\x80\x99s specifications when required

Reports to supervision any conditions which if left unchecked could result in premature breakdown

Performs other related duties as required

About You

Working at our Sudbury Operations, the successful candidate must adhere to our core values on safety performance in the workplace. At least 3 years of recent, relevant experience and possess a valid drivers license.

Your personal commitment to health, safety, training, and continuous improvement will be the key to your success in this role.

Education

Must have an Industrial Mechanic \xe2\x80\x93 Millwright Certificate of Apprenticeship and Certificate of Qualification
