CASCADES CONTAINERBOARD PACKAGING The Containerboard Packaging Group, a division of Cascades, is the largest containerboard producer in Canada, and is also a top converter of corrugated products in the country. The Group manufactures a wide range of products made from recycled fibres for its North American customers in the food, beverage and consumer products sectors, among many others. The Division, which employs close to 3,400 people, owns six containerboard mills and nineteen corrugated products plants in Canada and the United States.


Job Responsibilities
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and working as part of the maintenance team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and rebuilding corrugate manufacturing machinery.
  • Maintaining and repairing pneumatic and hydraulic equipment and components.
  • Completing planned work order requests on time.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.





Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
  • Valid Inter-Provincial Red Seal Millwright certificate.
  • Minimum 1 - 3 years experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
  • The successful candidate will primarily be scheduled for day and afternoon shifts. Graveyard shift coverage will be required at times.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Welding experience will be considered an asset.

  • Starting pay rate is $46.07/hour

  • Short Term Disability & Long-Term Disability benefits premiums covered 70% employer and 30% employee.
  • Extended Health Benefits are effective the first day of the month following the date of hire. Balance of benefits come into effect following the completion of probationary period.
  • Membership in the BC Pulp & Paper Pension Plan. The contribution levels are 10% employer contribution and 8% employee contribution with bridging benefits at the age of 60.
  • Afternoon and graveyard shift differentials.

  • 2 - 7 weeks of vacation, pending years of service.
  • Supplemental vacation after 5 years of continuous service.
