Millwright Mechanic

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work with a driven and creative team working with a diverse line of custom products used in industrial marine applications across various industrial construction sectors. You will play a key role in our success by providing high quality and efficient work on world class equipment.


We are filling a position at our new Maintenance Facility just north of Fort McMurray across from Suncor Base Plant. This is a Monday through Friday, 730am-4pm, 40 hours per week position with occasional approved overtime as the business demands. There may be occasional site work outside of the shop if a mechanic is needed for field equipment maintenance.

The Millwright Mechanic provides maintenance support to Operations through repairing and maintaining equipment. They will inspect and repair industrial pumps, heavy equipment, and other assets while under the Supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor while adhering to company safety protocols and quality standards.

Accountabilities



Follow company processes and company Safe Work Procedures and Practices Work within Company, Customer, and other existing standards and regulations pertaining to their scope of work. Reporting and rectifying of potential hazards, accidents, and near misses. Perform Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRA) Provide a daily report summary of work activities performed, following the template provided. Analyze equipment operations, processes, and associated procedures to determine and improve effectiveness in line with productions, quality, health, and safety requirements. Conduct defect analysis such as root cause analysis, perform corrective and preventative action requirements. Work with team as required and propose/implement solutions for continuous improvement. Support quality control to ensure products are repaired and maintained as per specifications. Document repairs, complete and submit work orders to Maintenance Supervisor Stage and Prepare Repair Materials + Collect and stage required parts and components for repairs.
+ Operate rigging equipment and dollies to place heavy machinery and parts.
+ Load staged materials into service trucks
+ Dispose of post-repair materials in an environmentally appropriate manner
Repair and Maintain Equipment + Follow daily repair priority list provided by Maintenance Supervisor
+ Diagnose mechanical issues and establish repair timeframes.
+ Requisition required specialty components.
+ Conduct required and preventive repairs to assets within manufacture and safety standards.
+ Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances.
+ Verify repairs and report summary of maintenance conducted to area supervisor.
Consult the Maintenance Supervisor regarding mechanical standards, protocols, and warranty repair procedures. Work within company, customer, and other existing standards and regulations pertaining to their scope of work. Conduct pre-use equipment inspections and report required maintenance. Gain familiarization with customer and Canada Pump and Power rules, regulations, and standards. Other duties as requested.

Requirements



Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent Ability to read write and understand English. Must possess Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) trade certificate or equivalent. Confirmed experience repairing and maintaining equipment. Site specific orientation and training Must possess Valid driver's license with acceptable abstract. Must participate in and pass screening tests for drugs, alcohol, and other controlled substances.

Physical Demands



Able to work shifts up to 12 hours long. Capable of moving over and around obstacles Capable of lifting large or heavy loads up to 18kg
