A leader in the Maritime Forest Products Industry, the Doaktown Sawmill is currently seeking a motivated individual to fill the position of Millwright/Welder.

The Job:

As a Millwright your primary responsibility is to work with the maintenance and production teams to ensure the safe and continued operation of the Doaktown Sawmill, Planer Mill, Boiler, and Value-Added lines. The ideal candidate for this role will understand that this position will include shifts that can operate overnight.

Some key responsibilities for this role will include:

• General mechanical maintenance, including inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, and installation
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues
• Repairing or replacing chains, belt conveyors, gear boxes/drive chains, hydraulics & pneumatics
• Reading blueprint and sketches proficiently to fabricate equipment and make modifications
• Responding to requests from both the Production Supervisors and the Maintenance Supervisor
• Committing to and always promoting the use of safe practices
• Training and developing apprentice(s)

Qualifications:

Education, certifications, and experience required:

• A minimum of block 2 in Industrial Mechanic
• 2-5 years of experience in maintenance in an industrial environment
• Experience working with stationary equipment used in a production process
• Proficiency in hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting is required
• Attention to detail
• Education, certifications, and experience considered an asset:

• Experience in a sawmill or production/manufacturing setting
