Summary
As a Millwright, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of plant equipment through effective troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance. You'll support production by minimizing downtime, performing mechanical overhauls, fabricating parts, and maintaining safety standards across all maintenance activities.
Responsibilities
Install, troubleshoot and repair plant machinery and equipment.
Machine simple parts or regrind rubber rolls to repair plant machinery and equipment.
Dismantle, overhaul and re-assemble plant machinery and equipment with a minimal supervision.
Adjust brakes, clutches and variable speed drives to ensure efficient operation.
Perform preventive maintenance (P.M.) inspections, including the accurate completion of the provided checklists, as assigned, on the plant's machinery and equipment.
Safely move heavy machinery and equipment using accepted rigging techniques as well as forklifts and/or hoists.
Adhere to all Health & Safety policies.
Install pipe work, valves and fittings.
Complete project work including simple machining, fabrication and installation work which may be required.
Assist with training and development of maintenance personnel in the apprenticeship program.
Provide shift coverage, as required; ensuring that machine downtime is minimized and plant safety systems are functioning properly including the plant's fire protection system.
Ensure that the maintenance work is done in a safe manner and that the both the work area and shop are kept clean and free of hazards.
Maintain good housekeeping in the work areas.
Assist the Charge Hands and Mechanical & Electrical Supervisors with the investigation and resolution of equipment problems; making recommendations on how and what repairs should be done.
Produce simple layout and dimensional drawings.
Fabricate roll journals and other complicated machine parts required ensuring proper bearing fits and tolerances.
Perform work at elevated heights using scaffolding, scissor lifts and ladders.
Maintain and supply personal tools.
Repair and fabrication welding as required using arc & oxy equip. Any other job assigned by the Manager or Supervisor.
Qualifications
433A Millwright: 5 years (Preferred)
433A Millwright Certified
Strong Mechanical/Electrical aptitude
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Knowledge and experience with ISO based quality systems preferred, but not mandatory
Skill set required
Strong communication skills for clear reporting and collaboration.

High attention to detail for accurate maintenance and repairs.
