• Maintenance/repair of the assigned production equipment using the prescribed techniques
• Performs preventative maintenance of manufacturing related equipment using the prescribed techniques.
• Inspects equipment to assure safe operating conditions prior to start-up.
• Maintains log of repairs and of completed preventative maintenance.
• Review all equipment operation/maintenance information/manuals supplied to assembly technicians
• Responsible for shutting down equipment due to unsafe and/or process out of control conditions.
• Completes equipment changeovers in accordance with established standards
• Makes use of all prescribed safety equipment and implement safe work practices
• Proper maintenance of workstations - ensure good housekeeping habits
• Responsible for knowing and upholding the H&S Policy and for working in a safe manner and reporting all unsafe or unhealthy conditions or acts.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Participates actively in the requirement to retain ISO/TS16949/ISO14001 certification
• Adhere to all company policies and practices
• Completes assignments, duties and projects that may be assigned.
• Willing to work overtime on weekends and holidays as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 433A Industrial Mechanic certificate or 3rd-4th year apprentice
• Valid G Driver's License
• Knowledge of safety and workplace hazardous materials procedures
• Must possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic machining utilizing a vertical mill and lathe
• Mechanical, hydraulic, welding skills.
• Basic industrial electrical skills
• Capable of working effectively both as a team member and independently
• Must be able to demonstrate troubleshooting skills
• Must possess knowledge of machine assembly (from drawings or prototype)
• Computer skills that include CMMS, Microsoft office and Word
