JFE Shoji Power Canada Inc. is looking for a Millwright in Burlington, ON!

Formerly Cogent Power Inc., JFE Shoji Power Canada Inc. is under new management.

This position will be on rotating continental shifts (12-hour shifts) and overtime available as required, there will be a shift premium (80 cents) on all regular hours.

Job Summary:

To complete work orders and general preventative maintenance on all machines. Identifying and troubleshooting machine irregularities and breakdowns. Assemble equipment and machinery using hand and power tools.

What you'll do as a Millwright:

• To install and repair mechanical equipment and systems
• Observe all safety rules and maintain an orderly workplace. Works from blueprints, machine/ piping diagrams, shop orders, instructions and ideas.
• Plans with supervision proposed mechanical work during planned shutdowns. Maintains the inventory of mechanical supplies and equipment and requisitions same, as necessary
• Installs dismantles, examines, repairs, reconditions, rebuilds/overhauls and re-installs mechanical systems and equipment such as motors, gearboxes, drives, chains, pulleys, hydraulic components, air systems, filtration, aids and/or performs predictive maintenance. Gathers information for replacement parts.
• Performs a testing routine on a scheduled basis.
• Examines and repairs all equipment when required for continuous plant operation.
• Makes minor adjustments to and lubricates tools and equipment used.
• Reports any abnormal conditions of materials, products or equipment to the supervisor
• Performs preventative maintenances on required equipment and scheduled work as required.
• Performs 5s related tasks.
• Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment
• Perform routine maintenance work on all machinery
• Identify and troubleshoot machine irregularities and breakdowns

About you, simply stated:

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of 3 years experience as a millwright or similar job.
• In-depth knowledge of machinery and troubleshooting
• Completion of an accredited millwright certificate program.
• Good communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent mathematical skills.
• Must be able to work well in a team environment.
