We are currently looking for a Millwork Project Engineer to join our dynamic team! The Project Engineer position reports to the Engineering Manager and will work closely with our Project Management and Production teams. You will be responsible for creating a full submittal set of engineered drawings ready for production based on architectural drawings and/or concepts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Microvellum Training:



New Employees: Test and experiment designs with Microvellum software, asking questions and seeking clarification from the Engineering team Stay up to date with news and new features as they are released for Microvellum

Project Engineer Duties:



Work with Microvellumsoftware to create, detail, and program architectural drawings and external shop drawings. Ensure accuracy of production drawings to ensure timely release for the Project Manager and Engineering Manager to review prior to submission to CCW clients. Monitor the status of project milestones and create and effectively manage your time to corroborate with pre-determined schedules. Read specifications, drawings and company quotations while minimizing exposure and mitigating risk within each project. Assist in raising corporate visibility in the industry by creating shop drawing packages with minimal error and maximum potential. Promote creative and innovative thinking to bring ideas for production and engineering efficiency to the table. Investigate new and alternate material finishes and hardware. Ensure all drawings are detailed to meet "CCW standards" and are in alignment with client's architectural drawings. Ensure all drawings reflect accurate specs. Ensure special instructions on drawings are highlighted for improved visibility. Highlight red line edits as you make them to ensure you are not missing any. Ensure a peer review of red line edits prior to release. Ensure all production drawings are reviewed prior to being released to shop. Ensure accuracy of material sizing from supplier (i.e., sheets for wall panels) prior to engineering.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS



Minimum of three (3) years of experience required working with MicrovellumWoodworking Software (or related platform such as SolidWorks or Inventor) Grade 12 (Secondary) Diploma or equivalent Post-Secondary diploma/degree in Woodworking Technology, Engineering, or a related field considered an asset Ability to work with AutoCADand to read and understand shop drawings/blueprints General knowledge of cabinetry construction, architectural millwork and casework production required Proficient in Microsoft Excel/ Microsoft Suite Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work and focus on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment Organized, self-disciplined, and capable of evaluating the weekly workload and obtaining cooperation from other departments Ability to thrive independently and take initiative

WORKING CONDITIONS



The Project Engineer is an office position, with working hours from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00 am - 4:00 pm on Fridays. At times, this position may be required to enter the shop to consult with the Plant Manager.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
