Mill Operator 3 - Dewatering/Reagent Operator
to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working a 14/14 rotation.

As part of the Mill Processing Plant Team, the Dewatering/Reagent Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining equipment used for the separation of solids and liquids within the thickening and filtration area of the processing plant. Dewatering/Reagent Operator role involves ensuring safe and efficient separation of solids and liquids in a slurry stream, adhering to safety and quality standards. In a steady state operation, this position will also be tasked with the safe and efficient preparation of mill reagents.
Job Responsibilities:
Operate thickeners, filters, and related equipment to separate solids from ore slurry and produce concentrates and tailings.
Monitor equipment parameters and adjust operational settings to optimize thickening and filtering efficiency.
Prepare mill reagents by following standard operating procedures to maintain correct concentrations.
Collect and analyze samples to verify quality and consistency.
Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and part replacement.
Identify and report equipment malfunctions or issues to maintenance personnel for prompt resolution.
Follow safety protocols, regulations, and SOPs to maintain a safe workplace.
Use PPE as required and promote a safety-first culture.
Implement dust control measures and minimize environmental impact during handling and storage.
Adhere to environmental regulations and best practices for waste management.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance, and team members to coordinate operations.
Maintain accurate records of parameters, maintenance, and quality control.
Be familiar with emergency shutdown procedures and respond promptly to emergencies.
Participate in training programs on equipment, safety, and processing technology.
Job Qualifications and Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a mill or similar industrial setting.
Knowledge of thickening/filtration and milling processes preferred.
Able to read technical documents and process specs.
Familiar with safety protocols and regulations.
Physically fit for standing, lifting, and outdoor conditions.
Strong attention to detail; able to adjust equipment.
Team player with good communication skills.
Problem-solving skills for troubleshooting equipment issues.
Basic computer skills for data entry and monitoring.
