Career OPPORTUNITY Position Details: BGCY Full-time Middle Years & Youth Program
Part-time or Full-time up to 37.5 hrs until March 2023
Salary Range: $23-27/hr Introduction BGC Yukon is looking for energetic, dedicated people to work as Youth Programmer and/or Supervisor in our Dakw\xc3\xa4k\xc3\xa4da- Haines Junction program. This position would entail providing supervision, education, safety, and leadership to youth 6-25 years of age. The Program is for School Age, Middle Years & Teens. The program offers a variety of recreation activities and learning opportunities and includes fresh from scratch snacks daily. We are looking for folks committed to supporting our next generation in finding their best selves and their own positive future. This Position reports directly to the Communities and Communications Director. This role will take an active leadership role in planning and participating in program preparation, delivery, paperwork and food preparation/culinary education. This position is also one with primary accountability for behavior management support and development with our participants. This Dakw\xc3\xa4k\xc3\xa4da- Haines Junction program engages children between the ages of 6 to 25 with programming and activities designed to encourage the growth of developmental assets. While primarily a recreation based program, our camp engages youth in recreation, nutrition, arts and literacy programming.
If selected for Program Manager , the incumbent is responsible for services, programming delivered in the community of Dakw\xc3\xa4k\xc3\xa4da- Haines Junction while also being part of the BGC Yukon team from Whitehorse. The Program Manager keeps current on community needs and implements and develops new programs that respond to these needs.
This position requires evening work with potential hours of work from 2pm to 10pm. Qualifications

• Demonstrated teamwork, leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to problem solve and find resolutions to issues/conflict;
  
• Excellent oral, written, facilitation and interpersonal communication skills;
  
• Proven time management skills;
  
• Proficiency with MS Office applications;
  
• An educational background in recreation, social services, child and youth care, or equivalent is an asset.
  
• Current Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector);
  
• Valid CPR/First Aid Certificate;
  
• Valid Foodsafe Level 1 Certificate (an asset);
  
• Valid Class 5 Driver\'s License and access to reliable transportation;
  
• One year of experience developing and running programs for children and youth in a social, recreational or similar environment;
