Our reputable Edmonton-based client has an immediate requirement for a Microsoft Power Platform Developer to develop the internal software tool. This is a great opportunity to be part of a well-established organization. The ideal candidate is someone who has recent hands-on experience with Power Platform application development. The application development involves creating UI and search functionality along with research, evaluating, and synthesizing technical information to design, develop and troubleshoot applications.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Work closely with developers working in an Agile software development environment.
• Develop Microsoft Power Platform application based on Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI with localization in English and French.
• Develop code to generate application status updates via MS Outlook and MS Teams (Approvals app).
• Ensure that the data captured can feed Power BI reports effectively.
• Assists in requirements analysis and specification writing and management.
• Assists in the analysis, development, and implementation of software solutions for new requirements and identified deficiencies.
• Research, evaluate and synthesize technical information to design, develop and troubleshoot applications.
• Assists in maintaining the software development environment.
• Recommends practices for configuration, installation, optimization, and use of productivity tools.
• Identify potential items of major concern as early as possible.
• Identify and add unit testing and test automation.

• Degree from a recognized university or community college with acceptable specialization in computer, electrical engineering, systems engineering, computer science, or information systems.
• Recent (12-24 months), direct experience developing applications within the MS Power Platform (open to entry-level and all levels of experience).
• Experience in designing, developing customer-facing, front-end software through interaction with the customer.
• Experience developing real-time applications as an asset.
• Knowledge of design patterns .
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong Critical Thinking.
• Effective English language is written and verbal communication skills.
