Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Microbiology Technician to join our laboratory team. This role is essential in supporting quality control processes and ensuring the accuracy of microbiological testing. The ideal candidate will have microbiology laboratory experience, strong analysis skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and precision in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Sample log-in, sampling, plating, transfer and streaking of pathogens as per SOPs and methods as assigned by the Lab Supervisor/Assistant Lab Supervisor When required, run quality control samples under the direction of QAC Prepare culture media, reagents, and test samples following established protocols . Responsible for storage and disposal of samples after analysis. Responsible for cleaning all equipment and benches on daily, weekly, and monthly basis as assigned by Management. Receive general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments from Assistant Laboratory Supervisor/Lab Supervisor. Follow strict safety guidelines and proper waste disposal procedures

Skills

Proven experience in a laboratory setting, preferably with microbiology focus Strong understanding of quality control principles in a lab environment Excellent data collection and analysis skills with attention to detail Proficiency in mathematical calculations relevant to microbiological testing Ability to interpret test results accurately and report findings clearly Familiarity with laboratory equipment and standard operating procedures Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively within a team
Competency Requirements

College diploma and a minimum of one year's experience in a microbiology laboratory. Detail-oriented, well organized, works well in a team environment.

Pay: $18.00-$24.00 per hour
