Program includes work performed by internal forces, contractors and customer projectsPlan, schedule, organize and assign work to ensure that quality and accuracy of work is maintained and on schedule within the normal bounds of Project ManagementProvide advice, guidance and direction to staff in the resolution of work related problems, as well provide clear expectations and performance measuresProvide leadership through demonstration and response to staff requirements to achieve targets, plans, strategies and quality objectives to deliver service levelsMake effective recommendations on human resource issues, including career counseling, promotions, transfers, pay, hiring, and disciplinary action etc.Coordinate support program needs for various projects and programs while identifying key customers and stakeholdersManage and perform the full life cycle of work support programs resolving issues of performance, scheduling and controlDefine objectives, perform tasks and produce deliverables critical to the support and success of the project and in the development and implementation of contractual agreementsContribute to the development of policies, procedures, strategies and integrated plans for Project Management and other LOBsReporting regularly on the status of the work programMaintaining a team of subordinates who are capable of producing the outputs required.Ensure subordinates are able and willing to produce the desired output, and that subordinate managers continually improve the processes for achieving the outputs.Assess staff capability to do the required work, now and in the future.Conduct personal effectiveness reviews of subordinates to build relationships and trust, and to improve effectiveness.Mentor and counsel subordinatesSet an effective framework of policies and procedures for the work of the unit.Know and ensure own and subordinates\xe2\x80\x99 compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, and all corporate policies and procedures, and generally accepted practices relating to the work of the unit.Establish a two-way working relationship with subordinates to solicit their views on conditions and potential changes effecting their work, and continuous improvement opportunities.Perform other duties as requiredEnsure that projects are executed in a safe and consistent manner via the capital projects process Leading a team to contribute to the successful execution of the work program by delivering projects per the approved scope, cost, and schedule.Selection Criteria:Requires a knowledge of business administration and project managementRequires knowledge of Transmission and Distribution systems and assets information technology and systems associated with project management activities.Requires working familiarity and administration of the Utility Work Protection Code(UWPC)Requires strong communication skills in order to lead a team effectively, negotiate with internal and external stakeholders, and report on the status of projects within the portfolio.Requires relevant experience in the following areas:Requires experience with the UWPC application.Information management systems and business process redesign.Experience in consulting, project management and facilitation services through all phases of systems project life cycles, including needs assessment, business case development, approval, implementation and transition to operational status.Familiar with the practices and procedures of the department, the organization structure, operation and service requirements of client groups.Manage multiple work programs and effectively lead and facilitate teams consistent with the goals and philosophies of continuous quality improvementAnalyzing project finances, identifying trends, mitigating risks, and proactively taking action to maintain project and portfolio performance via communication with staff and peers.Reporting project and portfolio performance to senior management.Requires experience in handling complaints and dealing with internal and external customers.Requires experience in the supervision of staff, experience in promoting and developing a teamwork environment with both staff and peers.Requires experience in carrying out the broad scope of administrative responsibilities associated with monitoring, coordinating, and controlling the work activities of staff.At Hydro One we understand that the success and strength of our business rests with our people.
