We are seeking a skilled Metrology Specialist to join our team in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of our pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. The Metrology Specialist will play a critical role in scheduling, maintaining, calibrating, and validating the instrumentation and equipment used in our facilities. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of metrology principles and practices in the pharmaceutical industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



Perform calibration, qualification, and validation activities for a wide range of metrology equipment and instrumentation used in an analytical laboratory and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. Develop and execute calibration procedures and protocols in accordance with regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, cGMP, USP). Maintain accurate calibration records and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal quality management systems. Maintain Calibration software. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to metrology equipment, ensuring minimal impact on manufacturing operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Engineering, to support ongoing process improvements and equipment upgrades. Stay informed about industry best practices, technological advancements, and regulatory updates related to metrology and instrumentation. Participate in internal and external audits, providing documentation and expertise related to metrology processes and procedures. Ability to work with vendors and coordinate software and mechanical updates and repairs. Ensure adequate laboratory supplies including standards. Review and approve laboratory data. Train and mentor junior staff members on metrology principles, techniques, and regulatory requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:



Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering, Metrology, Chemistry, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in metrology or a similar role within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. Strong understanding of metrology principles, calibration techniques, and instrumentation validation. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and guidelines Experience with metrology software systems and data management tools. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and work independently. Certification in metrology (e.g., ASQ Certified Calibration Technician) is a plus.
