AAA Canada is looking an experienced Aircraft Avionics Engineering with strong expertise in developing and authoring Functional Test Procedures (FTPs). The requirement will be to produce FTPs for the DHC-515 and Dash 6, Series 300-G aircraft. This role is crucial in supporting the standardization, validation, and operational readiness of test programs related to avionics and electrical systems.
Responsibilities
Develop and author Functional Test Procedures (FTPs) for avionics and electrical systems per OEM specifications, Functional Test Engineering Requirements (FTERs), industry standards, and certification requirements.
Interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and system logic to create accurate and comprehensive test documents.
Work closely with Systems Engineering, Production, and Flight Test teams to validate procedures and incorporate test results.
Ensure documentation complies with applicable regulations (e.g., TCCA, FAA, EASA) and company standards.
Support engineering changes and continuous improvement of test documentation.
Review legacy documentation and update test procedures as necessary for the modified or new configurations
Skills and qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Avionics Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in avionics systems engineering and test documentation in aerospace or aircraft manufacturing environments.
In-depth knowledge of aircraft electrical and avionics systems (preferably on DHC or similar platforms).
Proven experience authoring or reviewing Functional Test Procedures, ATPs, and test plans.
Familiarity with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Proficient with tools such as MS Office, Adobe, and preferably CAD systems (e.g., Solid Works, FrameMaker).
Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
Experience with the DHC-515 or Dash 6, Series 300/300G platforms.
Previous involvement in aircraft modification, upgrade, or certification programs.
Familiarity with maintenance and manufacturing environments
