We are currently looking for a
Meter Programming & Test Data Technician
to join our busy and growing manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be engaged in elevating the department and company to the next level. The incumbent will be forward looking and thrive in a culture of continuous improvement.

General Accountability:
Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, the Meter Programming and Test Data Technician will perform testing duties to ensure that assembled product meets the proving requirements. As well as collect and organize proving data, prepare statistical reports and will also support and cross train with other members of the team and any other related assigned projects.
Key Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Verify the measurement integrity of the devices manufactured for all customers
Assembly, testing and programing of all electronic modules including Honeywell, TCI and Mercury modules
Assembly, testing and programming of AMR/AMI devices (Itron, Aclara, etc.)
DC Testing
Responsible for collecting and organization of all proving data
Responsible for creating customer specific data files
100% testing of devices: meters, pressure bodies and modules built for Canadian customers
+ Inspection of devices and issuing a certificate in a manner prescribed in Section 21 of the Electricity and Gas Inspection Act, and Government Document #GEN-27
+ Initiate the request for recertification of Bell prover (Standard/Reference) in a manner suggested in Government Document GS-ENG-09-01
+ Initiate the request for re-certification of 40,000ctf transfer prover as suggested in government document GS-ENG-04-01
+ Work with government personnel for product audit and surveillance audit
+ Inspection of electronic modules for sealing as and when required by management Non Canadian Customers
+ Verify the devices and issue certificate in accordance with the Romet Quality Management System which include TC test, Pulse Verification and accuracies check at desired flow rates
+ Maintain the records as per the Romet Quality Management System Other areas
+ Assist R&D department with projects which require special testing, range ability evaluation, etc.
+ Perform tests and make statistical analysis reports
+ Assist quality control administrator to prepare reports and communications to obtain approval/recertification of standards/references
+ Suggest revisions in the Quality Control Document and process booklets
+ Maintain records according to section 17 of the Electricity and Gas Inspection Act
+ Identify the major and minor non-conformances to the concerned personnel as stated in section 2.2 of SA-01-2010
+ Perform weekly, quarterly and semi-annual maintenance, calibration of standards used for verification of devices, and maintain the log as per government guidelines set out in SA-01-2010
+ Perform periodic maintenance of Electronic Test Rack as designated person as required by Management
+ Suggest the revision in the Romet Quality Management System in a way described in section 3.1 of SA-01-2010
+ Any other duties as assigned Housekeeping as required
Skills and Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of 1 - 2 years of experience as a Test Technician or an inspector in a manufacturing environment
Must be mechanically inclined
Must be able to use various inspection instruments
Strong problem solving skills
Must be a self-starter and be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Poses excellent organizational and analytical skills
Must be computer literate - Microsoft applications, Exposure to MRP would be an asset
Good communication skills both written and verbal
Educational/Experience Requirements:
Community College Certificate/Diploma in Quality Assurance or Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering Technician Diploma or related work experience
Good working knowledge of OHSA and ISO 9001 Systems
Problem solving and Root Cause Analysis training and experience
Lean Manufacturing training and experience
