Integra Castings is a boutique "job shop" foundry, with over four decades of manufacturing high-quality ductile and grey iron castings. As we grow and modernize our business, we are seeking a Metallurgist or Materials Engineer.

Responsibilities

Providing critical feedback to production and quality regarding products and processes Ensuring customer quality and metallurgical standards are met Reducing scrap, non-conformities, and returns, leading to productivity improvements Consulting with sales, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities and other considerations when reviewing products for production Continual evaluation of process and equipment, identifying areas where casting quality is being affected Providing metallurgical assistance to management, quality, engineering, foundry teams, and special projects Building strong relationships with cross-team leadership, including quality and production Process development and optimization, including updating and creation of P&P, work instructions, and quality information, with the intent of having a fully auditable system Managing lab staff, ensuring engagement and productivity Providing direct leadership to team members, including coaching on metallurgical properties and requirements to operating staff Writing certifications for customer requirements Scheduling and leading metallurgical testing and experimentation initiatives Maintaining role-specific KPIs Assisting with lean manufacturing initiatives, and other continuous improvement activities

Skills

A degree in Metallurgy or Materials Engineering Demonstrated leadership skills Experience in heat treatment and machining is a definite asset Experience in the foundry process is required, with no-bake molding process preferred Exceptional spoken and written English language skills
