  • The Metallurgy department has operational and research opportunities focusing on optimization projects for unit operations such as: Crushing, Grinding, Gravity, Leaching, Carbon-in-pulp (CIP), Elution and Water Recycle. The projects will expose you to different areas of gold production including, but not limited to: safety management, project management, process automation, metallurgical test work, data analysis and processing, engineering design, etc.
Other responsibilities of the Metallurgy Student include, but are not limited to:
  • Learning the milling process from the production floor
  • Executing required metallurgical test work
  • Computation of daily/monthly mill production reports
Requirements
  • Preference is given to students with at least 2 years completed in a Chemical Engineering Technologist or Chemical Engineering Program
  • Previous experience in a production environment is an asset
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications
  • Organized
  • Flexible with day-to-day tasks
  • Ability to work both independently and in a group setting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Working ConditionsThe schedule for this position will consist of 14 days on and 14 days off, 12 hours per dayWe understand no candidate will meet every single desired qualification.
