Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Metal Shop Supervisor to oversee our metal fabrication operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of construction management, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires hands-on experience in managing a team, coordinating schedules, and maintaining compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Supervise and manage daily operations within the metal shop, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and OSHA regulations. Oversee project scheduling and resource allocation using construction management software such as ProCore and Primavera P6. Collaborate with project managers to review contracts, budgets, and project specifications. Conduct quality control inspections on fabricated metal products to ensure they meet industry standards and client specifications. Utilize tools such as Ohmmeters for electrical testing and ensure proper blueprint reading for accurate fabrication. Train and mentor shop personnel in best practices for metalworking techniques, safety measures, and equipment operation. Maintain accurate records of production metrics, project timelines, and material usage for effective construction estimating. Facilitate communication between the metal shop team and other departments to ensure seamless project execution.

Experience

Proven experience in a supervisory role within a metal shop or similar construction environment. Proficiency in construction management software including HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and Primavera for effective project tracking. Strong understanding of construction site operations with hands-on experience in project scheduling and budgeting. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation and maintenance is preferred. Excellent skills in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and quality control processes. Ability to lead a team effectively while fostering a collaborative work environment focused on achieving project goals.
